People often cite their positive thinking as being the reason they were a success in their journey against illness.  Sports stars all believe they will win, and business leaders all know that they will do anything to ensure that they get the result that they want

Believing everything is going to be alright is hard though.  Especially when your inner you have doubts and fears over which direction to go in, so how can you inject positivity into your life?

Understand that Being Positive is a Choice

The Tinybuddah suggests that this is perhaps one of the hardest choices you will make, but it really is down to whether or not you are accountable for your actions.

We are told from an early age that we are either a glass half full or half empty person, yet this is a taught behaviour.  If we were taught that our actions are what defines our success, wouldn’t we see the world in a different light, as a land of opportunity?  Wouldn’t that make us feel more positive in itself?  We need to learn that when bad things happen, REGARDLESS OF BLAME, we have the opportunity to make something positive with the outcome.  The car crash that happened when someone reversed into my car, became the opportunity to repair the scratches on the door from where people opened their car doors onto mine…

Stop the Blame Game

Do you find things happen to you and blame someone else?  You forgot to send that email to your client – Argh… Why didn’t your colleague remind you as you asked?  You get in the car to go to work and the car had no petrol, so you had to fill it up – Argh… why weren’t you told last night after your wife had been driving?  See the pattern?  Sometimes blame is a ‘thing’, but very often, it is an excuse for us to avoid taking responsibility for our own actions, which in itself is soul destroying, and anything that makes us feel bad, is negative and induces negative thoughts…

Surround Yourself by Positive Thinkers

Successful people surround themselves by other successful individuals.  The environment you move in has a huge effect on your outlook on life.  You need to rid yourself of anyone negative and seek out others who always look for the opportunities in every situation.

As Churchill said, “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity.  An optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty.”
