I love to read.  Reading has and always will be a passion of mine, but in between working full time, being a wife and a mum of 2 small children, a UK charity trustee for Shamida Ethiopia and having evenings of events to attend, I barely have the time to see my friends and spend quality time with my family without throwing reading into the mix.  I have really missed it though, and suddenly found the world of podcasts to occupy my time.

The Investors Podcast

Podcasts are a great alternative to reading.  I download them and put them on in the car whilst I am running around doing school and play date drop offs, and often when I am cooking – It makes me feel less guilty about not being chained to the desk, as more often than not, the podcasts I listen to are work related.

The Investors Podcast – We Study Billionaires is one of the podcasts that I have found and downloaded several items from.  Normally quite heavy in advice on investments with overviews of how the likes of Warren Buffet have made their money, it was the show where they dissect the book written by Paul Allen, the little known cofounder of Microsoft who is most often overshadowed by Bill Gates, is by far the best I have listened to so far.

Originally recorded in November 2016, the hosts Preston and Stig, get gossipy tones on for talking about the demise of the friendship between the two childhood friends and the way that Gates appears to have been portrayed in this book (with respect, but as a man who will allow nothing to stop him from coming out on top).

Heavily loaded on business advice and what it takes for people to succeed, not to mention the lessons that you learn from not being able to trust anyone in business, The Investors Podcast – We Study Billionaires has put Paul Allen’s book The Idea Man to the top of my ‘will read’ book list, and the show itself will continue to download to my phone.
