Bale began his professional career at Southampton, moving to Tottenham Hotspur in 2007. He was named PFA Players’ Player of the Year in 2011 and 2013, then transferred to Real Madrid later that year. Bale played an integral role in his first season at Real Madrid, helping the club win the 2013–14 Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League, scoring in both finals.
One of the star athlete’s most recent accomplishments was helping his nation, Wales, to their best ever finish in a major tournament at the 2016 European Championships, eventually losing to Portugal in the semifinal.
